The Global Food Security Programme unveils a new Doctoral Training Centre, funded by the UKRI-SPF. The DTC, led by the University of Greenwich aims to create the next generation of food system leaders to help transform how the UK produces, supplies, and consumes food.

Research generated by scientists at University of Glasgow and The Pirbright Institute has shown that a targeted vaccination programme against foot-and-mouth disease (FMD) could alleviate poverty in eastern Africa.
This project will aim to characterise the obstacles that hinder the effective communication of complex systems, identify strategies to overcome these and equip systems-thinkers with the tools to articulate the complexity of our food system to a broad range of stakeholders.
On 30 April GFS held its second annual Science Advisory Group meeting in London. This one-day workshop brought together a variety of system-thinking experts from across the food system to discuss the current events and recent scientific advancements that are likely to impact the global and UK food security landscapes in the future.
